    Description

Welcome to the Canadian Diabetes Association Clothesline Program!

Through Clothesline we collect the things you no longer want or use. Items such as clothing, linens, shoes, small appliances, electronics, toys the kids no longer play with, even old tools that your handyman isn't so handy with any longer. Just about anything that's tucked away in your basement, attic or closets!

Clothesline is an innovative, grass roots program that reaches out to millions of people in every community across Canada. It all begins with the Canadian Diabetes Association making phone calls - asking Canadians to donate the things they no longer want. Then, Clothesline trucks pick-up the donations from each household, free of charge, and drops them off at Value Village stores, where 100% of the net revenue goes back to fight diabetes.

Did You Know...

  • Approximately 1.7 million households are visited by Clothesline drivers annually.

  • Over 1500 donation bins can be found in apartment buildings, corporations, senior centres, university dorms and at attended stations. (visit diabetes.ca to find the one closest to you).

  • Clothesline raises more than $30 million annually which supports diabetes research, education, service and advocacy.

  • More than 42 million kilograms of useable items are diverted from landfill sites annually - which translates into saving 766 million kWh of energy while reducing our donors' carbon footprint by 105 million kilograms of CO2 emissions.
