Save A Plant...Eat A Bug
Cambridge (Ontario) –  Treat your taste buds with New Orleans inspired Louisiana Creole Cuisine at the 9th Annual BugFeast at Wings of Paradise Butterfly Conservatory.

While over 70% of the world’s population eat insects as part of their regular diet, the thought of chowing down on Meal Worm Jambalaya for dinner tonight may not be all that appealing to most families in
North America. Yet, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, there are an estimated 1400 species of insects and worms eaten in almost 90 countries.
Back by popular demand, BugFeast, an annual event held at Wings of Paradise Butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge is an opportunity to break through yet one more gastronomic barrier. Entomophagy, (eating insects) is the main event during March Break at Wings of Paradise and this year’s menu includes Louisiana Creole Roasted Crickets, New Orleans Style Bug Brittle and of course Meal Worm Jambalaya.
Jeff Stewart, an internationally trained chef, has sampled insects worldwide. He is passionate about bringing his unique experiences of cooking insects to the public. Chef Jeff creates protein packed delicacies that are part education and part innovation. “What I want to do is open peoples’ minds to the kind of food that is out there; just because you haven’t tried eating bugs before doesn’t mean that they are disgusting,” says Jeff Stewart.
Wings of Paradise has served bugs to over 60,000 visitors at the annual BugFeast events – don’t miss your chance to tell your friends what you did over March Break. BugFeast opens March 13th and runs through March 21st at Wings of Paradise.
Are you brave enough to eat a bug?
