Canada’s Largest Canada Day Parade Needs Your Help!

Reminder Parade Entry Deadline is May 15th

Cambridge, Ontario ,Cambridge has long been known for putting on the largest Canada Day Parade in the nation, and the event is highly embraced by locals, visitors and nearby communities.  Now is your chance to become a volunteer for this celebration that marks the anniversary of the July 1, 1867 enactment of the British North America Act, now called the Constitution, which united three British colonies into a single country called Canada .

“We are looking for people to help the organizing committee, as well as volunteering for the event on July 1st,” says Elaine Downton , Recreation Coordinator located at the Allan Reuter Centre and also project lead for the parade.  “It’s an excellent opportunity to refine your skills and contribute to the community,” she notes.

The City requires 75-100 volunteers for this event including Parade Marshalls, Children’s Activity Area volunteers and a Secretary for the Board. It’s easy to become part of the team.  The City of Cambridge has flexible scheduling available that is geared to when you are free to volunteer.  There are even opportunities to volunteer that are conducive for high school students.

Interested in Being in the Parade?

All applications for entry into the 2012 parade must be received by the Canada Day parade organizers no later than May 15, 2012. To apply for your spot in the parade contact parade@cambridgecanadaday.ca or download the application form at http://www.cambridgecanadaday.ca/images/Parade_Entry.pdf. All applications received after the cut off date will be considered for the 2013 parade.
