Spring Break FUN Even More FUN This Year Than Ever Before
Cambridge - Imagination, fun and creativity reign supreme thanks to CREATE! MARCH | BREAK at Cambridge Libraries. You and your family are invited to join in the fun all week long at a variety of FREE programs at Clemens Mill, Hespeler, Preston and Queen’s Square locations. From Star Search Celebration to Wii Just Dance 4 Fun, and a LEGO LIVE! Party to a Hee Haw Hoedown, there’s something for your entire family. “We’ve expanded our programs this year and want to spark the creativity of kids in our community,” says Helen Kelly, coordinator of Children’s Services. “We’re really excited to see where our kids can take us over the week.”
“We want to celebrate our city’s kids this March Break,” adds Karen Murray-Hopf, cultural programs and special events planner. “From the opening of Elementary! to free live concerts, this will be a week to remember.
Wondering what to expect? Check out the Kick-Off Party on Saturday, March 9 at Queen’s Square. This celebration features music by the Relative Minors and the opening of Elementary! Art from the Schools, as well as Wii Dance Fun, special guests and refreshments. On Sunday, March 10, the whole family is invited to create art and music together in the Queen’s Square Gallery with Kindermusik & Art Fun. With imagination, fun and creativity serving as the driving force, children, youth and parents will be treated to free concerts, special programs, and events all week long. And what better way to cap off an exciting week than by announcing a new program? Cambridge Libraries is excited to invite all inventors and creators to IDEA FACTORY – a day-long maker fair happening at Clemens Mill. Of course, a great Kick-Off party can only be matched by its closing ceremonies. Join the Cambridge Libraries as they welcome back the Licorice Allsorts in concert at Queen’s Square on Sunday, March 17, the perfect ending to a spectacular week.
