Annual Children's HERO Awards Looking For Young Heroes
Cambridge, Ontario -- Nominations are now being accepted for the Waterloo Region Children’s Safety Village Annual Children’s Hero Awards.
Children residing in Waterloo Region who are in Junior Kindergarten through Grade Eight are eligible for an award.
Children who have assisted their classmates, parents or friends and have performed at a level beyond expectation are eligible. Children should be recognized for heroic behaviour, good citizenship, or an outstanding safety deed, while contributing to a safer community.
The current plans are to recognize five to ten children at the Award Ceremony to be held at the Waterloo Region Children’s Safety Village on Saturday, May 28th, 2011.
All winners will receive a corporate sponsored trophy and a Certificate of Citation signed by the Chiefs of the local Police and Fire Services.
Deadline for nominations is Wednesday, April 20th, 2011. If you know of a deserving child who you wish to nominate, please visit the link below for a nomination form that can be submitted to the Safety Village via fax, mail or email.
