Investigation Continues - Call Police If You Have Information

Waterloo Regional Police Continue to Investigate Cambridge Homicide

Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred on Southwood Drive in Cambridge on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

Police responded to a residence at approximately 6:25 a.m. and located a male with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place on February 1, 2019.

Investigators are conducting a canvass in the area and have spoken to several witnesses who have reported hearing gunshots. Multiple individuals were seen leaving at the time of the incident.

An increased police presence will continue in the area as members of our Major Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Unit and General Detectives continue to investigate.
