Two Males Arrested In Fatal Shooting

Regional Police Arrest Two Males in Connection to Fatal Shooting

Waterloo Region, Ontario –Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two males in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Kitchener on December 15, 2019.

The males, aged 23 and 28, were arrested on Monday, May 4, 2020 in Kitchener and charged with Second Degree Murder and Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition.

The 23-year-old has also been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault. The 28-year-old male has also been charged with Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited.

They are scheduled to appear in Kitchener’s Ontario Court of Justice on May 5, 2020.

On December 15, 2019, police responded to a residence on Windale Crescent in Kitchener at approximately 4:15 a.m., after receiving reports of shots fired.

Through investigation, it was determined that there was a social gathering at the residence. During the gathering an altercation broke out between a group of people and several shots were fired.

Upon arrival, police located Yafiet REZENE, 19, from Kitchener, deceased.

Two other individuals suffered gunshot wounds as a result of the altercation. Both received treatment at the hospital and have been released.
