Waterloo Regional Police have seized approximately $190,000 worth of illegal drugs

Waterloo Regional Police Arrest 16 Individuals as part of Drug Trafficking Investigation

As a result of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, Waterloo Regional Police have arrested 16 individuals and seized approximately $190,000 worth of illegal drugs.

The six-month investigation was conducted by the Service’s Drugs and Firearms Unit and focused on an organized group that was trafficking drugs throughout Waterloo Region.

On May 20, 2021, the Drugs and Firearms Unit, with the assistance of our Investigative Services Division, conducted 15 search warrants throughout Waterloo Region.

As a result, police seized the following items:

  • Approximately 1,706 grams of suspected cocaine
  • Approximately 78 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • Approximately 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • Approximately 64 suspected Oxycodone pills
  • Approximately 132 grams of suspected cannabis marihuana
  • Approximately 6 grams of suspected heroin
  • Approximately 149 grams of suspected cutting agent
  • Suspected THC oil and indicia of trafficking THC pens
  • 1 loaded prohibited handgun with ammunition
  • Replica handgun
  • Scales, packaging, indicia of use and trafficking
  • Suspected stolen property (liquor)
  • Fraudulent identification
  • Approximately $100,000 Canadian currency
  • Ten motor vehicles were seized as offence related property

As a result of the investigation, fifteen adult males, between the ages of 20 to 26, and one young person, all from Waterloo Region have been charged with 52 offences including, Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable offence, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Weapons offences.
